Why are you Interested in Participating

I would love to come to YorkU to attend ElleHacks workshops and meet other hackers in the queer space. I think queer culture is really creative and would love to build a website or app that pushes the limits of software - maybe an entire software created from CSS+HTML providing the logic (lyra horse made something like this). I am planning to come with a group, which is how I found out about this hackathon.

What do you hope to achieve during the hackathon?

I want to finish a project I have in the backlog and try something interesting. My main passions lie within compiler and language design, but I am also largely invested into cybersecurity. I’d like to build something that is either really creative - maybe a cellular automata game or small esoteric language, or reverse engineering tool, perhaps even a webapp with a twist.

Tell us about a project/assignment you worked on that you’re proud of, or one that totally broke and taught you something anyway.

I am really happy to have built a compiler for a c-like language (https://github.com/csecutsc/c-compiler). I learned so much from a variety of sources (LLVM reference, Crafting Interpreters, Waterloo public lectures, Harvard lectures, Online compilerbook) and gave a talk about how it was built at my local university club: (https://invidious.yoshixi.net/watch?v=YvYB85hM79o)
