Definition

The degree of a Polynomial $f$ denoted as $deg(f)$ is the number $k$, where $c_k\ne 0$.

• If there is no $k$, then $deg(f)=0$
• The degree is 1 if the function is Monic Polynomial

Intuition

The degree is the highest power of variables in the Polynomial

• $7x^4+6x^2+2$, has degree $4$ in $7x^4$
• $7x{y}^2+2x$ has degree $3$ with $7x{y}^2$
